The Hairy Hound Nanny Service offers a fabulous Home from Home dog boarding service whilst you take a well earned break. The length of stay is entirely up to you anytime from a few hours to a few weeks. By keeping spaces available for up to 5 dogs, I can offer a more personal touch for your beloved pets.
The dogs love it too as its a less noisy and stressful environment ~ lying about on sofas in front of the log burner, I mean who wouldn't want that!
All I ask is that any dogs that come and stay with me are up to date with their vaccinations including kennel cough at least two weeks prior to visiting, this prevents unwanted and highly contagious illnesses from passing between dogs.
Now for the good stuff:
The Hairy Hound Nanny offers 3 acres of wonderful space for your pets to explore, they are free to wander throughout the house and are pawsitively encouraged to join myself and my husband in the evenings when we relax in the sitting room. after all, sofas are for sitting on, fires are for lying in front of, ears are for stroking and bellies are for rubbing !
Evidence of nose art can sometimes be seen on the windows on a rainy day, on dry days the dogs spend the majority of the time in the garden or on the decking . Walks around the lanes and bridle paths are hugely enjoyable and beneficial for both myself and the dogs. Beach walks are a treat too. I have to confess that this might be done in stages, depending on the number of dogs and their sizes ....but it keeps me fit
All you need to bring with you are beds, enough food for the duration and anything else to make your dog feel at home. (rubber chickens, furry pheasants, squeaky balls and toys are all provided .
If a collect and drop off service is required, please ask and I will try nd accommodate ~ Prices will vary depending on location but are reasonable

I only take a small number of dogs at any one time, this allows me to give them more attention and cuddles and they are less likely to pine, the dogs really do become part of the family! my Hairy guests are with me day and evening, and quite often take themselves off to bed when they have stayed a few times! No loud and lonely kennels here. Instead they receive lots of love and attention, treats, walks, playtimes days out and beach walks as well as having free run of my home.

Vaccination card – very important! We need to see this to ensure that your dog is going to be safe whilst with us!

Your own food – if you’re pet is fussy, has a sensitive tummy or is on a special diet please bring his or her food with you. We would also appreciate feeding instructions so that they are given the same as they are used to at home!

Medication – If your pet is on any medication please bring it with you.

Your dog’s lead – We often find that our guests behave better if they are walked with what they are used to at home, e.g. If you use a halti or harness, we can use it when we take him or her out for a walk here too.

Toys!!! – If your best friend has a favourite toy, please bring it with you! This helps to settle them as they have something from home

Treats – If your pet has a favourite snack, please bring it along! We find that many guests enjoy a chew or denti-stick before bed!
Anything else that you feel would help to settle your pet in!!
